Build the memory chip nobody has made yet

We’re engineering non-volatile DRAM from scratch – a new class of memory that cuts the energy cost of AI by an order of magnitude. No legacy code. No incremental tweaks. Just a small team solving one of the hardest open problems in semiconductors, in a converted crane hall in Dresden (Germany).

The problem you’d be solving

AI has a memory problem. You can help fix it.

Data centres running today’s AI models burn through energy at an unsustainable rate – largely because DRAM loses everything the moment power cuts out, forcing constant rewrites. Non-volatile DRAM would change that entirely. Nobody has shipped it at scale. We intend to.

Bring disrupted technology
to the market

Non-volatile DRAM combines the speed of DRAM with the persistence of Flash. Solving it requires redesigning memory at the circuit, architecture, and materials level simultaneously. That’s the work. It’s genuinely unsolved – which means your contribution will matter in a way that’s rare in engineering careers.

The market timing is now

Hyperscalers – the world’s biggest cloud providers – are actively looking for memory that makes their AI infrastructure more efficient. We are building the product they will need. You’d be joining at the point where the technology and the market are about to meet.

A team that has done
hard things before

World-class engineers from 15 nations, many of whom left established semiconductor companies to build something from scratch. No legacy bureaucracy. No incremental product cycles. If you’ve been waiting for a team worth joining, this is the one.

How we work

Five things that are true here, every day.

Casual
but intense

No dress code, no status meetings, no performance theatre. But the standard is high and everyone knows it. You’ll be challenged by the work, not the hierarchy.

Default
to Action

We move fast by deciding fast. If you have enough context to make a call, make it. Learning from a wrong move beats waiting for perfect information every time.

Disagree
& Commit

Challenge everything openly – design decisions, architecture choices, strategy. Once a direction is set, everyone commits fully. Constructive friction is part of doing good work here.

Let the
data lead

Opinions are cheap. Simulation results, measurement data, and rigorous analysis are not. We build the evidence before we build the consensus – not the other way around.

Spend like
an owner

Every euro is a direct investment in making the technology real. You’ll have the tools, travel, and resources you need – and we trust you to spend them wisely.

Where you fit in

Four teams. One mission.

Our headquarters is in Dresden, Germany, where our core teams are based. We also have growing locations and expertise centers across Europe (Italy and France), and specialists in the US and Asia (Japan and Taiwan), supporting foundry partnerships, business development, and customer relationships. Wherever you join, you’ll be part of a globally connected team that collaborates closely every day.

Engineering

Design circuits and technology that have never existed before.

Our engineers work at the intersection of circuit design, device physics, and memory architecture. You’ll build simulation environments, verify designs, and contribute to tape-outs for a class of memory that hasn’t been manufactured at scale – anywhere in the world.

Product

Define what world-class memory looks like.

You’ll own the interface between our technology roadmap and what the world’s largest cloud providers actually need. That means deep customer engagement, sharp technical judgment, and the confidence to set priorities that the whole company will build toward.

Operations

Build the supply chain for
a technology that doesn’t exist yet.

From foundry partnerships to manufacturing process development, Operations at FMC is the bridge between what we design and what we ship. You’ll work directly with fabs, OSAT, and logistics partners to take our technology from lab to market.

Corporate

Build the company infrastructure for a global deep-tech business.

Finance, legal, HR, and strategy roles that are anything but routine. You’ll be building the operating model of a company that is scaling fast, operating across multiple jurisdictions, and heading toward commercial production. There’s no playbook – you’ll write it.

Where we are

A crane hall in Dresden (Germany). A global footprint.

Our home is a converted crane hall in Dresden (Germany), a city with a serious semiconductor history and a cost of living that makes your compensation go further than most tech hubs. We also have offices and employees across Europe, the US and Asia. Our team already comes from 15 different countries – your background is an advantage,
not an obstacle.

What I value most about working at FMC is that we are truly at the forefront of innovation. We are building technology that has a direct impact on the future of
AI and energy efficiency.
